Ultraviolet
germicidal light - the best for indoor air quality, also known as IAQ.
ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT AIR PURIFICATION
Ultraviolet light rays are generated
by the sun, and this is nature's way of purifying the air. Ultraviolet
light rays with specific wavelengths are germicidal and will attack
and destroy viruses, bacteria, fungi, yeasts, and mold along with many
airborne pathogens. The ultraviolet light generated by sunlight is the
main reason microbes cannot live in the outdoor air. The ultraviolet
energy used by ultraviolet lamps is a llittle different. This is a highly
concentrated and powerful level of ultraviolet energy. Much more than
you'll find in sunlight. Ultraviolet light has been used for decades
by the medical field to sanitize rooms and equipment. This UV light
sterilizes the air that passes by the UV light source. The use of this
UV light is known as UVGI, or ultraviolet germicidal irradiation. This
method of air purification has been studied since the 1930's, and has
been used to kill the same kind of microorganisms that are known to
cause indoor air quality issues. Ultraviolet light with this critical
wavelength contains the perfect amount of energy to break apart organic
molecular bonds which results in cellular or genetic damage to microorganisms.
In simpler words, the UV light's radiation modifies the DNA of these
microbes, which in turn prevents the vast amount of microbes exposed
from reproducing. Imagine if a nest of ants were locked in your house
(like mold & microbes are) and they suddenly lost their ability
to reproduce. What would happen? Eventually they would die off, there
would be no more ants. This is what happens to microbes. When they can
no longer reproduce they die, and then they're gone. CaluTech products
utilize this UV light in the short-wave form, which causes the destruction
of viruses, bacteria and other microorganisms in the air...even dust
mites. This UV light will also kill mold spores. UVGI can have a major
impact on airborne viruses and bacteria. In addition, UV light air purifiers
by CaluTech can eliminate musty, mold related odors, prevent the development
of infectious diseases like Legion Ella and many others. CaluTech UV
germicidal air purifiers can control proliferation of TB bacterium and
reduce the spread of cold and flu virus as well as dozens of other airborne
diseases. CaluTech ultraviolet germicidal air purifiers can destroy
any microorganism that comes in contact wtih its powerful rays. This
UV light method is recommended by the Centers for Disease Control for
its germicidal effects. Without a doubt, UV germicidal light has the
power like no other type of air cleaner. Not all UV air purifiers are
the same. Many operate at different wavelengths and some intentionally
generate ozone. Ozone is not recommended by CaluTech as it can damage
the respiratory system when large amounts of it are produced, and even
worse, if asthma, bronchitis, or even allergies are a problem this method
is just a bad solution. UV is a very safe and environmentally friendly
way to not only purify, but sterilize the air indoors.
